Work Experience at The New Croft Foundation

The New Croft Foundation recently had the pleasure of welcoming three students, Rhys, George, and Alfie, from a local college for a week of work experience. As aspiring professionals in the sports industry, they gained valuable, hands-on experience in various aspects of our Foundation’s work, including facility management, coaching, and community engagement.

Throughout the week, the students took on a range of tasks designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how a sports foundation operates. They assisted with maintenance work, ensuring our pitches and facilities remained in top condition, supported coaching sessions alongside our Foundation team, and explored the role of marketing and branding in promoting community programs.

Each student had their own motivations for choosing The New Croft Foundation for their work experience, whether it was a passion for coaching, an interest in sports facility management, or a desire to understand how community sports initiatives are developed and delivered. One placement was arranged independently, while two were facilitated through the college, and we were delighted to provide them with an enriching and educational experience.

Tracy Thomas, Facility & Operations Manager at The New Croft Foundation, shared her thoughts: "Rhys, George, and Alfie have shown an outstanding work ethic throughout their time with us. They have actively contributed to various areas, from facility upkeep to assisting our coaches with football sessions. We hope they found the week both insightful and enjoyable, and we wish them every success in their future careers."
