The New Croft Foundation is proud to announce its partnership with Care UK to help support those living with dementia.
Through this collaboration, staff members from The New Croft Foundation, including Academy Manager & Ex-Professional footballer Kevin Horlock, will now provide monthly support to residents at Cleves Place in Haverhill.
Recognising the significant impact dementia has on mental and emotional well-being, The Foundation team will take proactive steps to engage and uplift through structured activities tailored to the interests and abilities of the residents.
"At The New Croft Foundation, we believe in the power of connection and purpose” said Kevin Horlock. “Through our partnership with Care UK our tailored activities will not only support residents, but also help to improve mental and physical wellbeing whilst providing a vibrant community.”
The structured activities organised by The New Croft Foundation staff not only aim to stimulate cognitive functions but also foster a sense of community and connection among residents. From reminiscence sessions to interactive games and physical exercises, each activity is designed to promote engagement and enhance overall well-being.
Clare Mooney, Home Manager at Cleves Place, said: “The majority of residents at Cleves Place were born in the area, so it’s incredibly important for us to maintain that link and work with local groups to organise a host of meaningful activities.
“Being active is especially beneficial for older people, including those living with dementia, as it can help maintain muscle mass and boost cardiovascular health, while improving sleep and encouraging social interaction. We’re thrilled to be partnering with the New Croft Foundation and benefiting from their expertise in this area to enhance the physical activities available for the residents – their dedication and enthusiasm has been nothing short of amazing so far, and we’re all looking forward to our next session.”
The New Croft Foundation remains committed to serving the community and creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued and supported. Through initiatives like this partnership with Care UK, they continue to uphold their mission of making a difference in the lives of individuals and families in Haverhill and beyond.
